Examinations
itself are very stressing for most of us. The reason could be anything and
everything. Many students go through panic attacks, anxiety and shortening of
breath. These conditions makes person agitated and extremely worn out with the
continuous flow of juices which are secreted by stress releasing glands.
Therefore, the level elevates to such a point where you become numb in an
examination hall and can’t concentrate or recall what you have had learnt.
There
are ways to fight with this situation. Firstly, make sure that you have all the
necessary stationary with you and you haven’t had anything before appearing in
exam, which would make you nauseating. Probability of uncertainty lingers on when you
don’t sit and relax for a while before appearing in your examination. Keep the
counts according the pace of heart beat. Breathing exercises are also there to
help in such trivial states of mind.
Once
you are relaxed and ready to go to take exam, follow steps mentioned below:
- Always bear in mind that difficult questions should be answered in the end. Reason is not tacky. It is because when you will attempt easy ones out you will get enough room in terms of time to invest in relatively difficult questions.
- Division of time has always been the fundamental way of progression from one question to another. If your exam is of an hour and you are requested to attempt both questions in an hour how would you divide time? It is based on the obligation. Some questions take more time as compared to another. Being able to devote 40 minutes to a question which is easy and 20 to the difficult one will make no sense.
- Apart from techniques of solving exam paper, it is also worthwhile to know the importance of prepared stationary box. In an exam hall you won’t be allowed to share pencil or other stationary items from someone else. Knowing the fact that it will not only disturb the other student but also will kill your time which matters the most.
- Exams are usually in a hand written form. For this, you have to practice on improving your handwriting speed. If you will be slow in writing, you might not be able to attempt all question time. Even though you would be knowing the answer, you might flunk in exams because of slow handwriting.
- Always divide time in such a
manner that all questions are answered in the best possible manner and you
have at least ten minutes in hand for reading what you have written. Doing
so will assist you in writing all the missing points. Moreover, you will
get ample time for editing your work.
- Another quality tip is to write
in simple clear and well-constructed sentences. Long ones with high
vocabulary may hamper the quality.
There
are many other handy tips on how to manage time well while taking test. These
can be inferred and applied to help you grow academically.
v How to prioritize questions,
which ones to attempt first and why are some basic concerns of time management
in an examination. For this, teachers have played a significant role.
- Mark all those
questions which are compulsory to answer.
- Also, time them
down as in which question will take how much time.
- Then, make sure
these compulsory questions are sequenced from easy to difficult.
- After completing
all the compulsory section, move on to next part in which there is choice.
- Select the ones
which may take less time.
- Don’t stress out and remain calm and composed. Have something to chew as it relaxes one’s mind. Also be careful about the rules and regulations in the examination hall. Don’t do anything which may hinder the efforts of giving exams.
Last
but not the least, always be happy about what you have done and don’t regret
for what you have missed. Regret brings you no good. In a gist you have to be
careful about timings and its division, prioritizing of questions from easy to
difficult, be fully prepared of attempting an exam (with stationery) and most
importantly taking your identity card with you which will let you appear for an
exam.
